What matters most to Conner Hennessey? The impact his work has on colleagues and clients alike.

A company’s success is judged in large part based upon the numbers. MarketSource’s Retail Finance Manager Conner Hennessey takes that responsibility to heart, broadening his impact by enhancing the success of others, thanks to his indisputable work ethic and commitment to the job.

The field of retail finance covers forecasting, budgeting, and building out pricing that helps drive decision-making across the business. Conner is known to go above and beyond for MarketSource’s business development team, helping them build quality pricing models to assist in winning new business… which in turn affects the lives of anyone involved in working on a new client program.

“Seeing all the hard work come to fruition really drives me to go the extra mile,” Connor says. “When we win a new deal, it’s gratifying to witness the excitement within the company, as well as knowing the number of people it will impact in a meaningful way.”

His impact extends to his teammates, as well. Conner regularly helps train and develop others on his team. “I’m a firm believer in the fact that the time and effort you spend investing in others will not only benefit the individuals you’re helping but also contribute to the growth of the team as a whole. That’s happened to me throughout my career here at MarketSource. I’ve had multiple peers and managers provide tremendous support to me, which has allowed me to pay it forward.”

One piece of advice that has contributed to his personal and professional growth has been to speak up more often. “I’m naturally reserved, and sometimes, I hold back my thoughts unless necessary,” Conner explains. “I was encouraged to speak up more frequently because when I did, I added value. Hearing those words of affirmation allowed me the courage to open up more.”

Conner is the epitome of the “whenever, wherever, whatever” mindset that creates trust among his colleagues, who know he’ll get the work done no matter what.

Conner is the epitome of the “whenever, wherever, whatever” mindset that creates trust among his colleagues, who know he’ll get the work done no matter what. “To me, having a strong work ethic means truly valuing your work and the relationships you’ve built,” he says. “In turn, you’ll hold yourself accountable for your actions and become a teammate others can rely on.”

It’s clear that Conner is a valued part of the team, and the feeling is mutual. “I love MarketSource for so many reasons,” he said. “I have grown in confidence and business acumen; thanks to the opportunities this company has provided. I value the open communication and relationship-building we cultivate, as well as being able to see my team members prosper. My favorite part of the job, though, has been the opportunity to make an impact.”
