Lynn Gives His Team Everything He Has

“The supreme quality for leadership is unquestionably integrity. Without it, no real success is possible…” – Dwight D. Eisenhower

This quote well explains why Lynn Wooley and his team have remained so successful. Lynn has proven his integrity at every step of his nearly decade-long career at MarketSource. He gives his work and team everything he has, and the integrity of the relationships he builds motivates others to follow his lead.

Lynn joined MarketSource eight years ago after spending more than 20 years in the retail automotive business, garnering a wealth of experience from various roles within a Pittsburgh-area dealership. When he joined MarketSource to work in our automotive sector, that extensive experience made an instant impact. Emphasizing to our team members the importance of developing strong relationships with the dealers that we partner with—and earning credibility with those dealers and service departments—Lynn was able to cultivate the buy-in that’s essential to that program’s success.

In 2018, Lynn launched one of our recall programs and immediately began analyzing data surrounding the effort required to ensure its success. He developed a set of best practices and applied them in a way that created a significant and lasting impact on our recall efforts.

In May 2024, Lynn was promoted to Client Services Director for our commercial automotive arena, overseeing all seven of MarketSource’s recall programs. Not only have his individual contributions made a hugely positive difference in these programs, but his superior leadership capabilities have assured the success of his fellow teammates.

So, how does Lynn describe his leadership style? “I focus on developing a team, understanding the goal, and then working together to achieve it,” he explains. “Helping others grow into leaders themselves is my favorite part of the job. I feel like we serve people best when we provide them with opportunities and encourage their efforts.” In fact, many of the leaders he now oversees had already spent time under his tutelage well before his new role, which goes to show that many great leaders had great leaders themselves. And that is no exception with Lynn himself. “I’ve had several mentors over the years,” he continues, “but one person who sticks out in my mind the most was someone who didn’t merely teach me how to do a job the right way, but also showed me.”

“Helping others grow into leaders themselves is my favorite part of the job. I feel like we serve people best when we provide them with opportunities and encourage their efforts.”

When asked the best advice he’s ever received, Lynn shares that it was to actively listen before responding…or, in his words, “use my two ears more than my one mouth.”

Now that’s sound advice from a great leader.
