Tyler Jahn, Business Analyst Team Leader, is a prime example of the power of building meaningful relationships, having a strong work ethic, and volunteering for new opportunities. Just after receiving his MBA at the University of Windsor in Ontario, Canada, Tyler joined MarketSource as a business analyst five years ago.
After quickly grasping the challenges of that role and becoming a key partner to his program director, he took on additional responsibilities for a second program. It didn’t take long for a number of leaders to recognize his potential, offering to work with him to identify additional opportunities for his career growth. These professional development conversations soon led to the next step in his career: in June, Tyler was promoted to business analyst team leader.
And he didn’t stop there. He continues to assist with his previous two programs and recently provided support to a third. Tyler’s “anything, anytime, anywhere” attitude has clearly served him well. He believes you must put in an effort to achieve the solutions you’re looking for.
“I’ve always prided myself on being a problem solver and someone who always does their best to provide answers and clarity,” Tyler said. “I enjoy interpreting leadership’s vision to the team and working with them to execute on it.”
Tyler credits his outlook and work ethic to the many incredible people in his life. “If there’s one thing I can summarize that I’ve learned from all of them, it’s that if you put an effort into something you enjoy, you’ll be rewarded. I used to focus on small, frivolous things, but over time, I’ve realized if I spend my time and energy on the people and things that matter, the rest will always work itself out.”
He also encourages others to do what they love and it’ll never feel like work. “I’ve found that my life has felt easier, even in the hard times, if you focus on the things you love.”
